Raptor - Nambokucho Zukuri Katana. The Nanbochuko period in Japanese history (the later part of the 14th. century) encompassed sixty years of internal conflict in Japan, which spawned a demand for more and bigger sword blades than ever produced previously. Blades became longer and wider, sometimes to extremes (the Odachi had its genesis in this period). Named for this period, the Nanbokucho Katana is impressively sized. With a blade length of 30", a long kissaki and a weight of just under 3 lbs. it is designed for heavy targets. It is, however, surprisingly agile and nimble enough to master double cuts. More: 5160 Steel; Historical blade style; Designed by James Williams / Hanwei; Overall: 44 7/16"; Blade length: 30"; Handle length: 13 3/16"; Weight: 2 lbs., 15 ozs.; Order yours today! • 28" blade
  • Traditional Tachi Design

The Tachi was a Japanese sword often said to be more curved and slightly longer than the katana. It was also often regarded as the early prototype of Katana. Tachi sword first came into popularity during the Heian Era (794 AD-1184 AD). The tachi was used primarily on horseback, where it was able to be drawn efficiently for cutting down enemy footsoldiers. On the ground it was still an effective weapon, but somewhat awkward to use. The Tachi continued to forged well into the feudal era and coexisted with the Katana. In later Japanese feudal history, during the Sengoku and Edo periods, certain high-ranking warriors of what became the ruling class would wear their sword tachi-style (edge-downward), rather than with the saya (scabbard) thrust through the belt with the edge upward. This is a Blue Samurai Tachi Sword. The blade of the sword has been constructed from 440 Stainless Steel. A hamon has been added to the cutting edge of the blade. The blade comes slightly sharpened. The guard begins with a golden blade collar. On the guard is a golden swirling Japanese dragon. The Fuchi is golden steel with a dragon wrapping around the fitting. The Handle has been covered with a red a black cord wrap. The pommel of the handle is golden with a another dragon. The scabbard of the sword is wooden with a blue gloss finish. The Tokugawa crest decorates the length of the scabbard. The traditional Tachi suspension cord has been added to the scabbard with leather straps and brown cord.

  • Set of 2 swords
  • As much fun to use as they are to watch!
  • Add color and excitement to your lead-up fencing programs
  • Perfect for school or home use
  • Designed for years of active play
Sportime's DuelSafer Swords add color and excitement to your lead-up fencing programs. The surface finish of our swords is smooth in order to avoid the skin abrasion that might occur from contact with the rough surface of uncoated, polyethylene foam. Smooth though it might be, we built the DuelSafer Sword s 24-1/2" L x 1-1/2"W (62.2cm x 3.8cm) blade using the same material and manufacturing process as we employ with our world-famous BonkerBall Bats. The blade is semi-supported by an internal rod, in a manner that allows its 4" x 1" (10.2cm x 2.5cm) unsupported tip to safely flex. The 4"L (10.2cm) grip of a DuelSafer Sword is padded with the same foam rubber as the blade. Its user-friendly, non-slip surface and 2"W (5.1cm) hand and butt rings keep the fencer's hand in place. Activity guide is included. 32-1/2"L (82.6cm). Goggles and foam ear protectors sold separately.

Cold Steel Knives Viking Sword

Cold Steel Knives Viking Sword Review

The typical Viking Sword of the 9th and 10th centuries featured a long wide blade with a broad central fuller and two keen edges. The preferred stroke was a hard slash of chopping blow, so the point was fairly rounded but just acute enough to be useful for thrusting. A simple guard with forward curving quillions was utilized and combined with a utilitarian wooden handle that was covered with leather, bone, of even cast in brass: What really made the Viking Sword so distinctively recognizable from its contemporaries was its heavy 5 lobed pommel used to balance the long blade: This sword has features in common with its historical counterpart, It has a double edged blade, hand forged out of high carbon steel and then polished to a brilliant lustre, The wooden handle is covered in leather and is supported by a simple, elegant guard and an equally handsome 5 lobed pommel. Both guard and pommel feature traditional Celtic knot decorative embellishments: To house the keen double edge blade each of these swords is supplied with a wood scabbard covered in black leather and reinforced with a highly polished steel chape and throat. Overall Length: 36-7/8". Blade Length: 30-1/4". Thickness: 15/64". Weight: 37.1 oz. Steel: 1050 High Carbon Steel.

CAS Hanwei Broadsword Hanger

CAS Hanwei Broadsword Hanger Review

CAS Hanwei Broadsword Hanger Feature

  • Nickel Finish
  • Made by Hanwei.
This Broadsword hanger is designed for the wall display of any Hanwei (and probably any other) broadsword. Its scissor-type action allows the retaining pins to grip the blade of the sword at the crossguard, with the weight of the sword providing the gripping force. The retaining pins are internally threaded and adjustable, to allow for different guard/grip thicknesses, and are grooved to provide a positive blade stop for blades with or without ricassos. The nickel finish blends well with any blade to provide an unobtrusive means of display.
