The Yari was an essential battlefield weapon of the Samurai in feudal Japan and took great skill to use and maneuver, due to its length and size. This piece is modeled after the su-yari or “straight-spear” design. The blade is forged in T-10 high-carbon steel and is triangulated and double-edged with a deep fuller on the flat side of the blade. Differential tempering results in a clear hamon on each edge. The tangs are long to absorb the shock of a blow. The shaft (ebu) is finished in a deep black lacquer and has a flattened side at the bottom section for blade orientation. The one-piece staff construction reinforces the durability of the spear..It also features a rattan wrapped section at the upper grip, making this a visually stunning piece.

This is a hand made razor sharp entry level practical katana sword suitable for normal tameshigiri. This sword is themed with the famous Japanese Sengoku Daimyo Takeda Shingen and his famous Fu Rin Ka Zan phrase engraved on the copper tsuba. The Tsuka of the sword is Ray Skin with a black cotton wrap. The Menuki are oxidized copper dragons. Two bamboo Mekugi secure the blade in the Tsuka. T This sword is made with high temper carbon steel that can cut steel wire without chipping, and can cut through bamboos easily. It is a full tang sword and can be fully disassembled. The Sword is measured at 40" overall long, the blade is measured at 28.5" long. The sword comes with a beautiful container box History Takeda Shingen is considered one of the most well-known and successful Daimyo (warlord) of the Japanese Sengoku (Warring State) period. The stories between him and his legendary rival Uesugi Kenshin have appeared in numerous movies, books, and video games. Besides his success in battlefields, Takeda Shingen was also an accomplished poet in his youth. Shingen had a profound effect on the period in Japan. He influenced many lords with his law system, tax system and administration system. He was probably not as cruel as other warlords, but he was aggressive toward military enemies. His war banner contained the famous phrase F?-Rin-Ka-Zan, taken from Sun Tzu's 'The Art of War.' This phrase refers to the idea of Swift as the Wind, Silent as a Forest, Fierce as Fire and Immovable as a Mountain, as engraved on the tsuba of this sword. The phrase demonstrates both Shingen's policies and warfare strategy.

Katana blade is sharpened hand forged full tang high carbon steel that can cut through bamboo. Katana is ~ 41" overall. Oda Nobunaga Legendary warrior and ruler, who also distinguished himself in politics, economics, religion and cultural pursuits. Nobunaga Oda was the eldest son of Nobuhide Oda, a noble samurai during the "Age of Warring States," when there was much conflict between rival warlords throughout Japan. At the age of 26, Nobunaga led an attack party of 3000 cavalry on the forces of opposing General Yoshimoto Imagawa and his army of 40,000. Surprising the larger forces, who were planning an attack on Kyoto, Oda won a resounding victory, killing Imagawa in the process and ending his dream of conquering all of Japan. In 1561, Oda formed an alliance with Ieyasu Tokugawa, with whom he collaborated in order to unite Japan. He had the foresight to manufacture great quantities of guns, which had only recently been introduced from Europe. He formed a rifle brigade to neutralize his opponents' heavy armor. A tactical genius, Nobunaga brought about a complete change in local methods of warfare. He was eventually appointed Minister of the Right, one of the two highest ministerial ranks. Just as he was about to complete his plan of unifying Japan through conquest, he was attacked unexpectedly by Mitsuhide Akechi, one of his subordinates, whose forces ambushed him and his son Nobutada while they were staying at the Honnoji Temple during a visit to Kyoto. Rather than surrender to his traitor general, Nobunaga, as well as his son, took their own lives as the temple burned. It is reported that priests quietly gathered their ashes and enshrined them in the Amidaji Temple.
